When I think of Texas, I always think about my grandfather. He was from Texas and loved the Lone Star state. He actually went by the nickname Tex. He was a larger than life person who lived life to the fullest.
As a hobby, he sang and played the guitar. He often traveled around Texas bringing entertainment to senior centers and other groups. He was loved by everyone.
When I decided to attend Baylor University, I was fortunate that I was able to visit my grandparents on a more regular basis. Since they only lived two hours away from my school, I would regularly travel to their house on the weekends.
During my visits, I would often wake up to my grandfather singing about eggs. Since he loved buttermilk and eggs, he would often combine the two.
My little Texan didnt get the chance to meet her great grandfather. So, to carry on the tradition, I love to make buttermilk scrambled eggs for breakfast.
To truly make an authentic Texas buttermilk scrambled version, I’m using using the perfect product: Lone Star Eggs.
Did you know that Lone Star Eggs are locally sourced? I love buying food items that are from my area. There is something so reliable about locally sourced food.
Not only do these local eggs taste great, you can easily find them in Walmart stores in Texas. I cant imagine anything more convenient. To find a Walmart that sells Lone Star Eggs, visit this finder page.
In my opinion, buttermilk and eggs are a winning combination. The buttermilk adds a tangy kick to the scrambled eggs. I just love it. Plus, they remind me of my amazing grandfather.
