We enjoy watching sports, especially our favorite college team. My husband and I both went to the same school. So, we are both very loyal to our school’s team.
During our last trip to Walmart, we stocked up on items for a game day party event! To add to the fun atmosphere, we decided to serve delicious Mexican food.
I decided to use Delimex products because of the authentic flavors. We headed to the frozen food area of the store to check out the options. Once we located the Meat & Poultry section, it was easy to find the Delimex products in a display case.
There were several delicious options. After some deliberation, we picked up the Delimex Beef Tamales and Delimex Chicken Taquitos.
I was super excited to have a coupon for these products. Did you know you can save $1 on any two Delimex Frozen Taquito products? You can use the coupon on everything except the Fruit Taquitos. (Click on the coupon to access it.)
Game Day Plans
When Im planning an event, I like to keep things simple. I want to spend time having fun with my guests. I don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen by myself.
Delimex made everything so easy. I was able to prepare amazing game day food without spending hours in the kitchen.
Game Day Menu
- Delimex Tamale Casserole
- Delimex Chicken Taquitos
- Strawberry Limeade
- Queso
- Guacamole
- Tortilla Chips
I decided to make a one pot meal using the Delimex Tamales. I put all of the components into a dish and put it in the oven. By the time it was done, I had a complete meal in one! Not only was this so easy to put together, it was really, really delicious.
Delimex Tamale Casserole

- 1 bag of steamable rice
- 1 jar of salsa
- 2 cups of cheddar jack cheese
- 1 cup of sliced olives
- Preheat the oven to 350.
- Heat the tamales in the microwave according to package instructions.
- Heat the corn in the microwave.
- Cook the rice in the microwave.
- In a small casserole dish, combine the corn and rice.
- Top with the tamales.
- Pour salsa over all of the ingredients.
- Top with the cheese.
- Top with the sliced olives.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20-30 mins.
When this casserole is complete, allow it to cool. Here is what it looks like when you plate a serving. I love the layers in this dish. The flavors all come together for one amazing meal. My family loved it!
Delimex Chicken Taquitos
For the Delimex Chicken Taquitos, I followed the package instructions and cooked them in the microwave. They taste great without any toppings. However, to add to the party fun, I served them with queso and guacamole.
They were so quick and easy to prepare. I loved that I could just pop them in the microwave for a minute.
Strawberry Limeade
Since I served a lot of delicious food, I had to have a great beverage. I made strawberry limeade. This beverage pairs extremely well with Mexican food. It is slightly tart and very refreshing. The addition of fresh strawberries to frozen limeade is a crowd pleaser!
- 1 container of frozen limeade
- 15 strawberries
- 4 cups water
- Blend the frozen limeade with the strawberries.
- Pour into a pitcher.
- Add the water.
- Stir to combine.
