So, this year, we decided to leave our Christmas tree up through Valentine’s Day. Long story … but our storage unit flooded and we had to figure out where to store our big tree. We finally figured it out, then the entire world shut down in response to the Corona Virus.
Instead of storing the tree, we decided to leave it up. It is a simple act that brings a lot of happiness to my daughter’s daily life. She loves getting up and turning the tree on every day. She, especially, loves decorating the tree. Since she loved creating our Valentine’s Day tree, we decided to decorate it for Easter.
Because we aren’t going out, we used items from around the house to create this Easter tree. I literally raided my holiday decorations and craft supplies. We actually walked around the house looking for items to put on the tree. We used plastic eggs, Easter grass, ribbon, party streamers, carrot gift tags and other random decorations. My daughter even made a few of her own.
If it is easily accessible, consider putting up your Christmas tree. It is an easy action that will yield hours of fun for your kids. You can decorate it for spring, 4th of July, Earth Day, etc. You can use things from around the house or create your own decorations out of paper. The possibilities are really endless.
