We hosted our amazing Disney Side Princess Dress Up Party. We had a BLAST! I wanted to share a super fun option for your next party: Duff Goldman Cake Mix Playdough.
If you read my site, you know I love to create homemade playdough.
We made playdough out of a Tie-Dye Duff Goldman cake mix. It is an innovative way to make a cupcake themed activity for your party guests. Trust me, every little princess I know loves playdough. So, this activity is sure to be a hit at your next event.
I love Duff Goldman. He makes the most incredible cakes. Im so excited I can purchase his cake mixes at the store. It kind of makes me feel like I have a super secret baking tool. I love being able to serve my guests a cake made from a Duff Goldman mix.
As a Disney Side Mom, I was thrilled to see a box of Duff Goldman Tie-Dye cake mix in my package. If you missed my unboxing of the #Disney Side @Home Celebration kit, visit this post.
The box of Tie-Dye cake mix is perfect for playdough because it already comes with packets of food coloring. You can easily mix the packets to create many different types of colored playdough. I chose to make three colors.
Duff Goldman Cake Mix Playdough
Ingredients:
- 1 box of Duff Goldman Tie-Dye Cake Mix
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/3 cup + 4 tsp. water
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 3 1/2 cups cool whip thawed
Instructions:
Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl.
Once you’ve formed a dough, place on a floured work surface and knead it to form a playdough consistency. (If it is too dry, add more water. If too wet, add more flour.)
Separate into three bowls.
Add a drop of food coloring to each bowl.
Knead the color into each ball of dough. (You can wear gloves for this part.)
Put back onto the floured surface and work it until it reaches the desired playdough consistency.
To make cupcakes, roll a ball of dough and place inside a cupcake paper. Roll a long section of another color and wind on top of the cupcake to look like frosting.
That’s it! Once you finish the cupcakes, you will have a really fun creative project for your party guests.
