I received Company’s Coming and Company’s Going to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Company’s Coming
On April 10, 2018, you will not believe who is coming to Shirley and Moe’s house for dinner. It is an ordinary day and they are ordinary people. However, something pretty extraordinary is about to happen to this couple!
From Disney Hyperion, author Arthur Yorinks and illustrator David Small, take readers through this fantastical story about unexpected dinner guests.
In Company’s Coming, Moe is mowing the yard when a flying saucer lands in it! He calls his wife. They have no idea how to handle their unexpected guests. What do they do? The obvious choice…invite the extraterrestrials to dinner!
Things get a little complicated when Moe calls the FBI to report the aliens. So, their small dinner get together ends up being a pretty big event.
This hilarious book is a ton of fun! Your kids will laugh along with the characters as they try to decide what aliens like to eat for dinner.
Company’s Going
Also available on April 10, 2018, is the hilarious sequel to Company’s Coming!
In Company’s Going, Moe and Shirley end up taking an unexpected trip. However, this unusual vacation has a galactic destination!
After enjoying Shirley’s delicious dinner, the aliens decide to ask her to cater their sister’s wedding. There is only one problem…it is on another planet!
Since Moe and Shirley are an adventurous couple, they decide to accept the invitation. What would you pack for a trip to another planet? Moe and Shirley pack 27 suitcases!
After a bumpy trip, via a cramped flying saucer, the couple receive a reluctant reception on the planet Nextoo. It is really amusing to see the humans viewed as extraterrestrials by the aliens! However, in the end, Shirley wins over her new alien friends with her famous meatballs.
These two books are hilarious! The illustrations are so fun and the stories are so zany. I love the dialogue between Shirley and Moe. They are just like any other ordinary couple dealing with extraordinary circumstances. As a parent, you will enjoy reading these books to your children!
