I love spending time doing creative activities with my daughter. We have so much fun doing things together.
From the time she was very small, she always enjoyed doing what she calls, “special projects.” As a Mom, I’m always happy to help fuel her creativity.
We love coming up with fun recipe ideas, like the ones featured on Que Rica Vida. Not only do we enjoy making delicious treats, we also like eating them!
I love the sense of pride my daughter experiences when she creates a recipe. It makes the entire experience so worth it.
Since her Kindergarten graduation is coming up, we decided to make a fun treat for our celebration.
During our last trip to Walmart, as we headed down the cereal aisle, I picked up a box of Cocoa Puffs. My daughter loves chocolate and cereal. So, in her opinion, Cocoa Puffs meet all of the requirements.
As we were talking about dessert ideas, we decided to use the Cocoa Puffs to make a fun and tasty treat.
This treat is really easy to put together. Once you create the cereal mixture and press into cupcake pans, you can get creative with the marshmallow flowers. This is such a kid-friendly recipe.
Cocoa Puffs Flower Pots
Ingredients
- 6 cups Cocoa Puffs
- One bag of chocolate marshmallows
- 3 Tbsp. of butter + extra for greasing the cupcake pan.
- Pink and white marshmallows (or any color of your preference)
- Assorted sprinkles
- Vanilla bark
- Chocolate frosting
- Red and yellow food coloring
Instructions:
Butter a cupcake pan.
Melt 3 Tbsp. of butter in a large pot.
Add the chocolate marshmallows.
Stir over medium heat until everything is melted.
Remove from heat and add 6 cups of Cocoa Puffs.
Stir to combine.
Fill each cupcake well and press down on each one with a spatula.
Allow to cool.
Melt the vanilla bark in the microwave.
For the food coloring, add 7 yellow drops and 9 red to create a terracotta color.
Dip the bottom of each treat in the vanilla bark to create the look of a flower pot.
Place on wax paper until hardened.
Cut each pink marshmallow on the diagonal to create petals.
Cut the white marshmallows in half and dip the sticky half in the sprinkles.
Spread chocolate frosting on the top of each pot.
Assemble the flowers on the top of each pot by arranging a circle of pink marshmallows.
Fill the center of the flower with a sprinkle covered white marshmallow.
You can change the look of each flower by using different types of sprinkles. If you don’t have sprinkles, you can use the plain marshmallow in the center of each flower.
Your friends and family will love these adorable treats! I love that they look like pretty summer flowers and feature bright colors.
