My daughter has a really cute candy themed Christmas tree. She got kind of upset when I started to take down the Christmas decorations. She really wanted me to leave this tree. So, I decided to turn it into a Valentines Day tree.
I know a lot of people joke about leaving their Christmas trees up all year. I wish I could. I love Christmas decorations. However, I don’t want to be known as the weird lady down the street who keeps her Christmas decorations up all year. Plus, if you saw my yard and house, you would understand. I think my husband tries to outdo Clark Griswold’s Christmas decorations every year.
Instead, I try to keep a fun atmosphere by putting up decorations for every holiday. By doing this, my daughter has something to look forward to with each approaching special occasion.
To transform the Christmas tree, I kept the candy and cupcake decorations and removed the peppermint striped Christmas lights and ornaments. I was fortunate that the tree skirt is covered with cupcakes. I think it still works for Valentines Day.
During my last trip to Target, I found really pretty felt hearts in the Dollar Spot section. I purchased three packages.
I added them to the tree. I think it is such a cute Valentines Day decoration. Plus, my daughter loves it.

What a clever idea turning your Christmas tree into a valentines tree! Like you I would love to keep my Christmas decorations up year round. It is sad packing Christmas away in boxes for an entire year. I believe this valentines tree would take the sting out of a bare home with no twinkling lights, especially for children and us adult children lol. Your tree is so pretty!
I am sitting in my little farmhouse still enjoying the glistening lights on my Christmas tree. I decided to leave it up to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas meaning it would come down on the 6th or so? Anyway- I have lots of heart decorations and was sitting here thinking “i am going to turn my tree into a Valentines tree” and leave it up through mid Feb. So searched online to see if lots of others did the same. I see that there are quite a few of us who love to keep our trees up past Christmas into Valentines day. My house is too small for a big tree so some years ago I took my 3 year old grandson for twig collecting walk and made a flat wall mounted Christmas tree for my dining room come playroom. We still mount it every year. Takes just minutes. My main Christmas tree is a living one which has been growing in my little front garden right next to my front door. Onlya handful of households put up Christmas lights in my street but they all love mine. It becomes a Valentine’s tree in the run up to Valentine’s. Then Easter tree. And later on, Halloween tree.
