I received Beatrice Zinker, Upside Down Thinker, Book 2: Incognito to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Young readers will enjoy reading Beatrice Zinker, Upside Down Thinker, Book 2. From Disney-Hyperion and written by Shelley Johannes, this book features a super zany main character.
Beatrice Zinker isn’t an ordinary girl. She sees the world in a very unique way. Instead of thinking sitting down or standing up, she prefers to be upside down. She swears it is the best way to think and the reason she gets great ideas.
She and her friend, Lenny, often find very unique ways to solve problems. In this most recent addition to the series, Beatrice and Lenny engage in Operation Upside.
As part of their plan, they decide to award Mrs. Tamarack, their third-grade teacher, with a Strictest Certificate, in honor of her prickly behavior. To avoid suspicion, they have to stop all further missions.
However, Beatrice doesn’t really know how to stop participating in Operation Upside. Things get very hectic when Beatrice finds someone in desperate need of recognition. When the certificate finds its way into someone else’s hands, Beatrice and Lenny must work together to save the future of Operation Upside.
Since my daughter is currently in third grade, she loved that Beatrice is her age. This book is totally relatable to young children. The themes of friendship and school dynamics are relevant to any young elementary school student. Also, the illustrations are so fun!
Incognito would be a great way to get your child interested in reading chapter books. It is a very easy-to-read to book.
