I received Heartwood Hotel Home Again to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Heartwood Hotel series is quite possibly the most adorable set of books for young children. From Disney Hyperion and written by Kallie George, this latest installment is full of cute animal characters who live in a magical world. While the story is a fascinating tale about animals, the illustrations make the book really relatable for children.
Illustrated by Stephanie Graegin, the whimsical illustrations add to the overall whimsy of the book. The book features 40 drawings that exhibit an amazing level of detail.
In book four of the series, Home Again, Heartwood Hotel is experiencing a busy summer! Ms. Prickles is preparing to marry Mr. Quillson. To add to the excitement, a mysterious new guest arrives to stay at the hotel. Strawberry is a sweet and soft-spoken character. She exhibits an amazing talent for cooking, just like the mother of one of the main characters. Could she be a long lost relative?
Things get pretty hectic when lightning strikes Fernwood Forest. When a forest fire breaks out, the guests and staff have to make quick preparations to ensure the safety of their homes and families.
Mona works really hard to ensure that Heartwood stays safe from the fire. However, as the fire grows, it becomes way too dangerous to stay at the hotel. Can Mona and her friends save their home?
This is our first interaction with a book in this series. From the colorful cover to the adorable illustrations, it is sure to become a favorite in our house. While it can be a little difficult to get younger children interested in reading chapter books, you won’t have that problem with Heartwood Hotel. The characters and the story are so cute, your child will enjoy reading each page.
