If you like chicken soup, you will enjoy this recipe. I find that I make a ton of this during cold and flu season. For some reason, homemade chicken noodle soup always tastes better than prepackaged.
I love the addition of lemon. It gives the soup an extra burst of flavor. If you prefer, however, you can totally leave the lemon out.

Mom’s Chicken Noodle Soup With A Twist
48-64 oz chicken broth (you can add more or less depending on how much liquid you prefer)
3-4 chicken breasts
4 cloves garlic
1/2 cup carrots
1 onion
6-8 oz egg noodles
1 lemon
Puree the garlic, onion and carrots. Combine chicken broth and puree in a pot and bring to a boil. Add the chicken and simmer until the chicken is cooked completely through. Bring back to a boil and add the egg noodles. Cook until the noodles are soft. Squeeze a little lemon into the soup once it is in indvidual bowls. This soup freezes really well. Add additional chicken broth as you reheat it.
